Section 5:  Season to Season Play

After a season is over, the OAWGS takes a break for approximately 3 weeks.  It is wise to take note of the next season of play if you're interested.  You will have to re-register for each new season.  If you want to keep the same guard from the previous season, then you must fill out the registration form with the same information from the previous season; guard name and password.  From season to season, some things change concerning your guard members.

Guard Members

Three major changes to members of a guard occur as a returning guard begins its next season; age-outs, experience conflicts, and new auditions.

Age-Outs

The age-out of a member occurs when their age reaches 23.  This is calculated by year to year, not birthday to birthday.  If you have a guard member who is 22 during an even numbered season, then they will age-out of the next season.  This is a process that is unavoidable and unstoppable.  You will be notified of this occurrence upon registering for a new season.

Experience Conflicts

As a member of your guard competes from competition to competition, season to season, they begin to accrue experience.  As this experience grows, the member desires to become more challenged.   Since novice guards usually have a lower challenging rate than Apprentice or Masters, then that member will defect, choosing not to return to your guard and auditioning for a higher challenging guard program.  This only happens if your guard's class is below the member's experience level.  The levels of experience are:

Novice Apprentice Masters
Experience 0 - 500 501-1500 1501 +

Keep in mind that this process can work on the reversal as well.  If your guard advances too fast and hits a competitive plateau for season after season, you mind find that those members who do not meet the experience level of the class your guard is in may defect to another guard that is along their lines of difficulty.
If either situation occurs, you will be notified of these changes upon registering for a new season.

New Season Auditions

As a new season begins, you have the right to hold auditions again, either to weed out those who caused more harm than good and to replace those who have left.  When you register for a new season, it takes up to 24 hours to process.  At that time, you will receive an e-mail with a link to your new auditions.  If you choose to keep the same members, an option will be provided.  If you choose to add to or subtract from the previous season's guard, then it is up to you to have kept a record of the ID numbers for each member from the previous season.  You then select those who meet your criteria and submit the audition.  Your selection is final for the season.
